About Directorate of Advancement and Linkages (DAL)

The Directorate of Advancement and Linkages (DAL) was hitherto a Unit in the Directorate of Research Administration and Advancement (DRAA).Ìý It was upgraded to a full-fledged Directorate with expanded functions in April 2021.

The expanded functions comprise exploring opportunities for working relationships and collaboration with local and international institutions, agencies, industry and individuals in areas of training, research and overall development and advancement of the University.

Housed on the ground floor of the OPD Building on the main campus, the Directorate operates and conducts a multidisciplinary role with a core mandate to attract necessary teaching, learning, research and infrastructural facilities to the University through fundraising, alumni relations, collaborations and partnerships.

The Directorate is domiciled in the Vice-Chancellery and charged with the following core functions:

• Serve primarily as an interface between the university and its affiliate collaborative agencies and institutions and co-ordinate linkages between ÂÜÀòÉç and various public or private sector establishments and organizations for purposes of qualitative manpower training, capacity building, and scientific/technological advancement.
• It is a platform for effective upgrading and marketing of ÂÜÀòÉç academic programmes through a purpose-oriented curriculum, collaborative research, and mutually beneficial staff and student exchange partnerships.
• Support and assist academic and administrative interactions as well as exchanges that encompass both undergraduate and post-graduate traineeship schemes and other collaborative arrangements as may be worked out between ÂÜÀòÉç and other institutions and agencies.

Mission and VisionÌý

Mission Statement

To establish, coordinate and manage ÂÜÀòÉç’s linkages with other higher educational institutions, corporate organisations and educational stakeholders at the local and international levels, by seeking support and forging partnerships towards the attainment of the objectives of the open and distance education.

Vision Statement

To steer ÂÜÀòÉç to be the foremost open and distance learning institution in teaching, research and community service through strategic partnerships and collaborations with local and international partners.
